My name is Laura Timbrook, I like good tequila, camping and I know stuff about Nutrition. I started my nutrition education at Clayton College where I studied Holistic Nutrition and then went on to earn my Health Coaching Certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I feel as though I’m a bit different than your everyday health coach, I’m not a fan of quinoa or kombucha. I’m a firm believer that good nutrition is simple, yet often complicated. Over the last 10+ years, I’ve realized how much we tend to stress about weight, nutrition, what’s healthy and many times we forget to just let the stress go, eat some veggies and enjoy life!
I’m a part-time stay at home mom of 3 kids, one rescued fur baby (who you can often see on Instagram) and a husband who works insane hours. Our lives are nuts from sports, work and summers camping – we are always on the go. Most nutritional advice didn’t work for us and I often found myself feeling guilty. I was failing at the “whole health coach/mom” thing. There are times that dinner is….uuummm….life happens. I’ve come to realize being healthy isn’t a short-term goal. I found myself stressed because I forgot about dinner when a few curve balls came our way and suddenly, we’re eating cereal. Nutrition is a life long goal, not allowing the chaotic stress break to us, being able to roll with it, say a few curses words, laugh it off, and know that tomorrow’s another day…and I’m sure I’ll screw it up somewhere too. Stress less, laugh more and eat your f-ing veggies; that’s my health advice.
